This artwork depicts the great cosmic moment of Mary’s resounding “yes” to the Divine. In this moment of affirmation and surrender, all time is present at once. Her wounded heart is made sacred, shining like a flaming jewel.  She holds the Moon in her hand, and the Sun in her belly, encircled by the thorns of suffering, already present in this moment of affirming joy and new life.
